What is True Love?

This is a profound concept of Love that has been a major concern of the "Wisdom of the Ages" for centuries and continues even today. This is critical because the "Quality" of TRUE LOVE is the only one that meets our deepest NEED— "To Love and be Loved!" Unfortunately, we have far too many ideas about the popular meanings of "Love." We even sing with gusto, "What the World Needs Now is Love!" But, only ONE Love represents the TRUTH of the TRUE LOVE that leads to TRUE HAPPINESS! We all have the potential to achieve this "Quality" of Love, but it still begins with "First, Know Thyself." Then we can begin our own "Quest for True Love" with our own unique KEY to open all the "right" doors that enables us to learn and practice the WAY of TRUE LOVE and TRUE HAPPINESS.

What is True Happiness?

We begin, again, with Socrates, Plato and Aristotle and start applying their "Wisdom of the Ages" to the complex question, "What is True Happiness?" There are three basic parts to their answers:

Plato stated and taught: "Happiness grows out of Human Nature �.and the Structure of the PERSONALITY."
Aristotle stated and taught: "Happiness is an Activity of the SOUL in accordance with VIRTUE." Socrates combined their ideas in TWO WORDS: Be Unselfish.
As centuries passed ideas developed and even found their way into our U.S. Constitution that guarantees "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness."

How does the PSP characterize the Personality?

Self-awareness trait: Self-awareness is our sensitivity to the needs, thoughts and feelings of others and our inner self.
Sociability trait: Sociability is our need for social involvement with groups and/or individuals.
Dominance trait: Dominance is the need for control of others or resistance to being controlled.
Order trait: Order is related to the need for order and related to how we organize and plan. We all do this however the intensity of our need determines how we do it. Some have a high need which causes us to prefer and seek detail and orderliness. Some have a low need which causes them to resist such detail and orderliness. This particular need is critical to choosing a career or job and should be as part of our lifestyle. High need would prefer to be an engineer or chemist while a low need would prefer to be a forest ranger or sales.
Materialism trait: A high Materialism need is marked by a strong drive for material gain, and a powerful competitive streak. A low Materialism need is manifested by indifference to material possessions and income.
Energy trait: Energy is our emotional and physical stamina for action or the preference for Ideas and meditation and thoughtful discussion.
Decisiveness trait: Decisiveness is related to problem-solving and decision-making. The low need sees in black and white and wants to make quick decisions. The high need sees in shades of gray and likes to take a lot time to making important decisions.
Ego/Drive Ratio: This represents the Ego and self-image, which is experienced as Critical or Non-critical. It is a KEY to our TRUE SELF.

How is the Values, Interests, Priorities Survey helpful? This is a survey of 3 major areas of influence upon your Personality and TRUE SELF. Your responses to the questions in each category will indicate their IMPORTANCE to you and, thus, their probable influence upon your relationships with Others and your quality of Life— especially in marriage.
